Happy Holidays!
I can't believe that Christmastime is here again, Hanukkah starts on Sunday the 21st and Kwanzaa on Friday the 26th. Time really does go faster the older you get.
This is a combined December 2008/January 2009 issue and it'll be short and sweet.
And you'll even get a present!
Winter in the Northern Hemisphere is a time for rest and reflection. Those seed catalogs should start to hit your mailboxes soon and I'd like you to include a new plant in next year's garden.
For me, I've never grown onions. I've done shallots and scallions but never true onion sets. That's this year's new veggie. As for a new flower, I'm still not sure yet. I'll let you know when I find something I crave in a catalog.
If you're thinking about putting in a new bed or re-designing your existing landscape, your Christmas prezzie will come in handy. I've packaged together 5 landscape designs from Better Homes & Gardens in one neat zip file.
And don't worry: you don't need any special software to open it. If you have any trouble, though, just drop me an email and I'll get it to you another way. You'll find it under the tree below!
I wish all of you -- espcially our new subscribers -- a happy, heathly and safe holiday season and I'll see you back here in February!
Yours for a more bountiful garden,
Victoria
